Article III – Membership
Section 1. The general body, hereafter referred to as the g-body, of the organization must be comprised of at least two-thirds of undergraduate students from Columbia College, The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Barnard College and General Studies. Membership to the ASA is open to any affiliate of Columbia University, i.e., undergraduate, graduate students, faculty, alumna, etc.
Section 2. An active member with voting rights is one who attends one ASA meeting per semester. However, in the case of upperclassmen — if in their tenure with ASA they’ve contributed significantly to ASA by serving on the E-board, or one of the semi-autonomous committees voting privileges will be allotted.
Section 3. The privileges of active membership are voting rights and the primary responsibilities of membership are to attend meetings and participate in events. Active members are eligible to join committees.
Section 4. Membership may be revoked by the E-Board if deemed on necessary or appropriate grounds.
